Regarding the PBC it's 3 for up to 2k points right? I'll keep 4 just in case I ever get to 2k+ games but RIP my 5th PBC coming in the mail lol.ĮDIT: Just read the Main Rulebook FAQ, Deepstrike then Warptime in the same turn doesn't work anymore so not only can't we Deepstrike outside of our Deployment zone turn 1, we can't even warptime them when they arrive turn 2, meaning that you could only get full usage out of them starting turn 3? I know other Armies had really powerful deepstriking units but our Terminators really got shafted here imo especially the Deathshroud. Big stuff considering our Terminators (most terminators in general actually) aren't really competitive and it's either you have them in your deployment zone T1 or not use them for a whole turn if you want better positioning. Daemon Prince of Nurgle, Wargear Options Change the first bullet point to read: ‘ This model may either take a plague spewer, or it may replace its hellforged sword with a daemonic axe or a second set of malefic talons.’ Daemon Prince of Nurgle, Keywords Add ‘Psyker’ to the keywords line. The deepstriking changes only affect turn 1 right? We can still Warptime them in Turn 2 if I'm not mistaken. And we have probably to plan for a future where you can only take 3 PBCs, so plan accordingly. Most people played it this way anyway but it's there for clarification.Īlso 2 additions - if you were using a deepstriking sorcerer to get your Terminators into combat via Warptime, that is dead now. Now it does effect them.Īlso confirmation that if you roll a 6 to hit with mortarian he DOES make three extra attacks with the reaping scythe, not just one. Previously this meant it didn't effect autocannons because autocannons dont roll damage. The killshot stratagem now increases all damage by 1, not damage ROLLS by 1. If they do this they must take the sword. If you want an army that laughs in the face of enemy fire and spreads corruption as readily as it does death, look no further. You need to allow points for them to come back if you're going to have more models than you started with.ĭaemon Princes can take plague spewers (essentially heavy flamers). The Death Guard are the rust-encrusted gauntlet of the plague god Nurgle. So if you have a 2000 point list and you want to bring in a new poxwalker, you can't IF it takes the poxwalkers above their starting strength. The big takehome is that you now need to pay reinforcement points for poxwalkers. I like to look at it more like the Lord of Virulence is a chaos lord in terminator armour with an added plague aura and death guard specific weapons.I was a bit hot off the mark before and missed some subtleties to the new FAQ. What he lacks in out and out power he makes up for in ranged capabilities and support. Over all I think the Lord of Virulence is a good take but isnt as straight forwardly powerful as the Lord of Contagion.

Running him alongside squads of plague marines is also pretty useful as you can give bolters the plague rule with virulent rounds. His ability to decrease the cost of Blight Bombardment is nice but I dont think that would ever be something a gameplan hinges on. Put him alongside some deathshroud and he is also buffing their plague weapons at the same time. This is great for a unit that can deep strike anywhere and be in shooting range. Plague weapon options can also make it more reliable or start to deal splash damage via mortal wounds. If you take him as a mortarions son company you can use the stratagem "plague brewers" to make it D2. The spitter really is an incredible weapon. 2d6 plague spitter that can also have plague weapon upgrades. Compared to the LOC he has a ranged attack though which is pretty solid. Going from D3 (plague reaper) to D2 on his plague claw he still hits hard, just not as hard as the LoC.

His melee output isnt that far off from the lord of contagion. The lord of virulence still has some good places to be though. He hits very hard in melee and is a pretty good character to put a company specific contagion on due to his increased contagion range. The lord of contagion is more of a straight up beat stick.
